Romans 13:10 - Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
As we continue to keep the safety of our family's in mind as well as follow the authority set in place by our God (Romans 13) we will continue to develop best practices for keeping our health and safety. As we continue to navigate these unknown waters of COVID-19 we would ask that you help us by following these simple tips to keep yourself and your neighbor’s safe.
Face Masks: In response to Governor Wolfe’s November 18th, 2020 mandate we are asking all who attend worship to wear their mask for the duration of the service.
Distancing: When you enter our sanctuary you will see that every other pew has been closed off to ensure that each family unit will maintain 6-feet of distance throughout the service.
Offering: We will continue to place a plate at the entrance to the sanctuary in place of passing an offering plate.
No Touch Environment: The church doors will remain open so that we can create a “touch-free” environment.
Musical Worship: We will be signing from our hymnal as we are led by our organist, as well as words displayed on our video screen during our contemporary worship set. Please use the same hymnal and pew Bible throughout the service to prevent the spread of germs.
Letter to our Church family sent on November 20th, 2020.
Good evening Pequea Church family! What a week this has been in our world; as COVID-19 cases have continued to rise, we know that many of your levels of anxiety have done the same.
This email lets you know that we are aware of the rise in cases in our area and are taking further steps to keep you safe. It is also a call to continue to pray for the effects of COVID-19 which are so numerous in our world.
Per the Governor's mandate passed down this week requiring masks to be worn at all times indoors even when social distance is being maintained, we will ask that you continue to wear your mask throughout the service. We know that this is far from ideal and different than what we have been asking since we began our regathering process in July. However, we need to be obedient to our leaders and authorities. (Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Romans 13) Also, we have learned more about the spread of COVID-19 and more than touch, the easiest way for this virus to spread is through the air, and the mask helps to cut down on this possibility. We will do our best to keep one another safe and be grateful that we are still able to gather in-person for worship! Unfortunately, this is not the case for all of our brothers and sisters in Christ, including our friends at Grace Community Church of Willow Street, who today made the difficult decision to move this weekend's services entirely online. They had to do this because 7 of their staff and volunteers have tested positive for the virus, which is a reminder of this virus's seriousness. Pray for our brothers and sisters in Willow Street, and let's be so grateful that, Lord willing, we will be able to gather in worship this Sunday!
The next change that you will witness when you enter the church for worship is we have closed every other pew. This will make it easier for us to do what we have been attempting to do since July, which is maintaining six-feet of social distance while we are together.
I will remind everyone that if you are sick or even not feeling yourself, it is best for yourself and everyone not to take the chance and stay home and enjoy our online service experience.

I will remind everyone whether you are sick or you just do not feel comfortable joining us in-person this Sunday or any Sunday for worship. We do now offer the option of online worship! (Whether you have a Facebook account or not.) Remember, you can use this link below to get to our Facebook page, and at around 8:45 am, I will begin the live stream of our service. We will be continuing to work in the weeks and months ahead to improve the quality of our live stream, but we are thankful that God has opened this door for us!
Remember, if you miss the live service, a recording of the morning's message is usually posted to Facebook and YouTube by Sunday afternoon.
I do not believe that it is a coincidence that God has led us this week to a message with a big idea that is "return to the Lord and remember His faithfulness." God has been so good to us, hasn't He? While the circumstances of our lives are not always what we would want them to be, we truly can say that "thus far the Lord has helped us." 1 Samuel 7:12 What a privilege that this Sunday, whether online or in-person, we get to celebrate the goodness of our Savior Jesus Christ! In fact, we get to celebrate that every day! What a Joy! What a Savior!
In this era of COVID-19, it is super helpful for event preparation if you pre-register before attending any of our worship services or community events. Now, do not let the fact that you did not pre-register ever stop you from attending an event at our church. However, pre-registration allows us to better provide proper social distancing, as well as helping us make sure we have enough supplies to host a successful event!
